Mario “Rio” Haskett Jr., a native of Chesterfield, Virginia, has seamlessly blended his passions for basketball, music, academia, and fashion into an inspiring story of skill and determination. Haskett’s musical path truly took shape during his high school years at Lloyd C. Bird High School. After graduating from Harvard in 2021, Haskett pursued a master’s degree at Hampton University, which he completed in 2023. While playing as a guard for the Hampton Pirates during the 2021-2022 season, he continued to excel both on the court and in his music, demonstrating a remarkable balance between his athletic and creative ambitions.

Beyond sports and music, Haskett developed a passion for fashion, inspired by visionary designer Virgil Abloh. Abloh’s lecture on creativity at Harvard deeply resonated with him, encouraging Haskett to explore fashion as another channel for artistic expression.
